Went up to Concord , yesterday

The past couple of days it has warmed up a bit and some of the ice is starting to melt away. There has been a lot of ice problems this winter with roofs , roads and homes.

luke's got cabin fever he dragged out all his toys down in the basement.

We took a ride out the "OLD New Hampshire Turnpike" (US 4) to Concord.
i asked Tricia if we could check out The Historical Society ; it turned out to be very cool.
This old Gilded eagle was on top of the Capitol till 1957 and was replaced with a "less aggressive right facing" (?) eagle.
hmmmmm wonder who had control of the house then?

What i particularly liked were these 2 American Revolutionary Flags both were New Hampshire Regiments

This shield was neat also .

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR !!!

I bought a bunch of old newspapers at this antique store and i brought them to the Portsmouth Athenæum where i volunteer once a week and they told me to lay them flat. so i finally got to it today. i also organized them according to date.

What was cool was i came across this letter from Martha Washington to whomever thanking them for the condolence and kindness shown to her on the death of her husband, George Washington.

Last Couple of Days

It's not Magnolia and i can't just walk down the block to the grocery store. it's an ordeal to go out and get groceries but i still love it.

I told Tricia to take this picture i thought it was pretty funny.

This old tavern or wayside i keep meaning to stop and check it out but too much snow

.....we're on the way to a vodka distillery up the road from us . it's called General Stark Vodka. I also found this old Catholic church (St. Joseph's) turned Irish Pub.

i forgot to take pictures at the distillery we just kept sampling the vodka, brandy and port and of course we bought it all.

we still need to get luke a bed.......
