What a difference a day makes

This was yesterday and the river was low but it was raining.

Today and the suns out and the river is high i'm sure cause of the last 2 rainy days.

Looked at Mars, some nebulae, and a galaxy or two.

Last night was a great clear night, a little cold though; i went out to the UNH observatory. It was actually fun talking to the professor or the guy in charge who was a lot younger than any professor i ever have had. It wasn't crowded either.

The Birthday Girl, White Mountains, and the Lakes

The Birthday Girl with the time out kid(Pam).

This is on the way to Conway and the white Mountains around Milton NH.

We really didn't get lost but we had to turn around on this dirt road around Center Ossippe.

The Birthday Girl, luke and Lake Winnipesaukee.

Oh. i'm sort of interested in this Lake Northwood. It's very close to where we live now.

Wadleigh Falls, lunch at Wild Willy's, over to Wells and Ogunquit Maine

Wadleigh Falls road is a back road that goes north west from our place; we decided to go out for a hamburger at Wild Willy's. Good hamburgers and great haddock .
Saw a couple of fishermen at the falls.

This is Wadleigh falls.

Here's a campsite on the way to Wild Willy's (Tricia thinks it's terrible); and it's not far from our place!!!

Heron Point Sanctuary; Sunday afternoon

Tricia, luke and i took a walk over to Heron Point. This sanctuary is not far from our home. we cross the falls and cut through the mill.

i just noticed this date the other day ; see if you can tell how old it is. (Jefferson and Adams were still alive).

This is looking back at the falls and the mill from the other side.

2 locals

This is at the end of the Lamprey river that really is part of the the Great Bay that goes out to the Atlantic. We have been really blessed to have stumbled onto a place we are so fond of.

Went down to Hampton and met with our new Attorney about working out a trust instead of a will.
Stopped at the "OLD SALT" for a chowda and clams ; Tricia had a reuben.

This is back home looking north ; the river is gettin more and more defrosted.

This is looking south towards the falls you can see the ice is still going down river.

Sunday morning instead of church

i decided to take luke for a walk down by Oyster river and the university instead of going to church. If you blow this 1st one up you can read about the massacre. Those damn white folk are always victims! Also note the house behind the sign was General John Sullivan's from the American revolutionary war. The other 2 shots are different shots of the house. He is buried over there some place on the property but there is a "no trespassing" sign so luke and i stayed away.

This is down by the falls looking up at the tavern where we had drinks at last night. it's the yellow house (INN). The hill is called Valentine hill. i'm not quite sure but i think that's where the massacre might have occurred..

Saturday 03/29/08

i took Tricia by the university of NH observatory and we found this old cemetery at the top of the hill; it was bittery cold out, the wind was blowing hard; kinda visually stunning and very cool, literally. I will go back to see how old the grave site is. it was just too cold to venture into the graveyard.

on the way home we stopped for a couple of beers and Tricia had "2" sea breezes.

Walking the dog yesterday

This is kinda close to where we live. Yesterday when i was walking the dog i had the camera and i heard the whistle and thought cool i'll take a picture. It was just an engine still kinda of cool in the snow and everything.
