1 week till Winter

We went to the Nutcracker in Portsmouth Thursday night and there was an ice storm. It was very beautiful but very treacherous and dangerous driving. We also lost power. There were lots of tree limbs and trees falling over . There are a still a lot of families and homes without power here in New Hampshire.

Busy Day; Friday 12/5/08

It's been very busy in the retail world of Fedex Kinkos in Portsmouth NH.
So today being my day off we had a lot to do looking at and tracking down all the different paints, bathroom stuff, tile, sinks, flooring, and carpeting that Tricia would like done with her new condo.
..................So in the morning while Tricia was getting ready i ran over to UNH special collections and compared my copy of Marshall's Washington to theirs. As i was walking in i was stuck by this old printing press and while i took a closer look at it i could read "Washington Press".............very cool!!!

After UNH i picked up Tricia and we took a short cut on old Exeter road and it cuts through this little village called Newfields. i said to Tricia i bet that bell in the square is a Revere Bell i stopped and sure enough.......; there's a little story of how Paul Revere gave it to this church and the church has since burned down but the bell's still there.......

After being over whelmed at all the selection we have to make at this design place in Exeter we ran over to the OLD SALT for fish and chips. i knew on Fridays they make this killer lobster stew. honest to God it's the best!!
i sat with my back to the fire and it felt great.

Stopped by Starbucks for a eggnog latte for the ride home oh it's getting kinda cold here in New Hampshire.

The Seacoast, History, mid-Fall, and remembering the Good Old Days.....

We've (Tricia) has been very busy with contractors, bathroom supply houses etc. figuring out what we're going to do in the new place before we move in.
i on the other hand because of my "bon vivant" streak went looking for a winter wet suit at the local surf shops. Tricia is very against this new "interest".
This is North Hampton beach.

This is at Ogunquit Maine.

This is looking towards Ogunquit beach.

This is looking towards York and Cape Neddick.

We couldn't see it because of the fog but we did hear it; the Whaleback Light lighthouse is right behind us

This is Wadleigh Falls this is upstream from where we live.

i'm currently reading about George Washington and i tracked down a 1805 copy of the "Life of George Washington" by John Marshall at The Douglas and Helena Milne Special Collections & Archives Department at UNH.
